Hamilton spent ten months of the 80's in Europe prior to traveling throughout the United States, working, going to school and enjoying her youth.  Although she easily prefers the East Coast, she settled down near her roots in the Pacific Northwest in the early 90's. While working on a research project concerning
fatal child battery in 2002, she began making trips to the Los
Angeles area, gathering information, getting to know others
in Research, particularly retired Crime Analyst Jane Alvarez.

By this time, Hamilton had been experiencing health issues for a few                     a few years, including headaches, weight gain, personality
alterations, sensitivity to both cold and hot, seizures and
more. Three years and sixteen physicians later (without a
diagnosis or relief) she relocated to Southern California in search of
answers from what was rumored to be a miraculous network of Specialists.
In 2003, she had brain surgery through Cedar-Sinai's world renowned Skull
base institute, having a blood clot and non-functioning endocrine lesion removed from her frontal lobe. While providing temporary relief, she learned her initial tumor was related to an underlying genetic condition and that she'd experience pituitary and endocrine gland dysfunction, brain tumors and complicated syndromes for the duration of her lifetime, including Lupus.

For years, Hamilton has entrusted her care to a combination of Specialty physicians and surgeons, utilizing
Cedar Sinai, UCLA as well as a smattering of extremely talented sub-specialists affiliated with both.

Although she worked with patients and physicians prior to becoming a patient herself, patient advocacy has
taken a particularly satisfying place in her life, seeing others achieve that often impossible diagnosis, dealing
with professional and personal issues and navigating through the insurance maze. Each case where a patient
is able to fully understand how to re-connect with themselves, their bodies and regain of their lives brings a
sense of joy and relief that she never would have experienced before her own journey.

Nowadays, Hamilton relaxes by swimming, eating a healthy diet, getting the proper amount of sleep and
indulging in passions, such as painting, spectator sports and music.

UPDATE: Hamilton's currently recovering from surgery in early November to remove another non-functioning tumor from her parotid gland and
surrounding lymph area. She's doing great and gaining more strength with each passing day.
